ABOUT

Mayola Tikaka is a multimodal designer working across architecture, spatial design, and entertainment. Trained at the Royal College of Art, his practice has developed at the intersection of cultural production and live experience — encompassing creative direction, design strategy, and spatial design for touring productions, cultural institutions, and commercial collaborations.

Mayola's approach is synthetic by nature. Digital mediums and emergent technologies are not treated as instruments applied to a brief, but as native environments in which form, atmosphere, and narrative are constructed from the outset. This position allows his work to move fluidly between scales and contexts — from immersive environments and stage design to brand identity and cultural commissions — while maintaining a coherent design language across each.

At the core of the practice is a sustained interest in how space asserts presence: how designed environments communicate systems of meaning, establish mood, and engage culture directly. The work operates both within and at the edges of established industry boundaries, informed equally by architectural thinking and the demands of live performance.
