ABOUT
Mayola Tikaka is a Designer working across retail interiors, spatial design, and live environments. Trained at the Royal College of Art (MA Architecture), his practice operates at the intersection of architecture, cultural production, and performance — encompassing creative direction, design strategy, and spatial design for commercial, cultural, and touring projects, with work spanning hospitality and workplace environments.
His approach is synthetic. Digital mediums and emergent technologies are treated not as tools applied to a brief, but as native environments in which form, atmosphere, and narrative are constructed from the outset. This allows the work to move fluidly between scales — from retail environments and exhibitions to stage design, hospitality, and workplace contexts — while maintaining a coherent design language.
At its core, the practice is concerned with how space asserts presence: how environments construct meaning, establish mood, and engage culture directly. The work operates both within and at the edges of established industry boundaries, informed by architectural thinking and the demands of live performance.
